We have a cup of tea or coffee first, just to feel respectable. After that fill your boots

I’m contemplating that too, @allthegear, just to see if I can do it. I don’t want to make those around me feel weird though.

What time do the kids get up?

1 cup of coffee after that.

Unless you make that coffee Irish…

’tis a day of calling on various relatives for lunch, then dinner, which involves both me and mrsiainc driving as we will have my elderly parents with us, requiring 2 cars, so in my case, not at all….

It is the only day of the year when it is socially acceptable to start drinking in the morning. In my house it’s when you start to prepare the christmas lunch. I have some leffe to quaff while I peel tatos and baste turkey so by the time I serve it I shall be slurring my words and then fall into a deep sleep on the coach afterwards with my paper hat at a jaunty angle, just like my Dad. 😀

Purchased Christmas Beer yesterday from these guys http://www.bramptonbrewery.co.uk/ so good timing on the thread.

    Plan for Christmas morning is..

6am – Get woken by the kids
    6:15am – Brief cup of tea/coffee
6:30am – Open presents with the kids
7:30am – Another tea/coffee to go with he bacon rolls and croissants we’ll have for breakfast.
    8am – Play with presents.
    10am – Start preparing dinner.
    10:01am – Start drinking.

We’re visiting a few people but all within walking distance.

I’m setting off next Wednesday to travel half way across Europe to spend Christmas Day with my 89 year old deaf MIL in a hotel local to her which is charging the Cornish national debt for lunch. So I’d say next Wednesday is my drinking kick off.
Just to complete the horror, on Boxing Day I’ve got a 6 hour drive north for lunch with my 87 year old grumpy casual racist father. Can’t wait to get back to Cataluña.
