Nice photo, dont think we realise how close we are to fantastic trails and hills.

actually, the shot is nothing like as good as it looked at the time - I think the camera sees a lot more UV than I do despite the filter

What a stunningly clear day. Terrific.
I've felt a slight proprietorial interest in Scafell Pike all year as I was on the summit at midnight on New Years Eve

very nice indeed.

Stunning photo, but yours always are!
Good day to you.

but yours always are!
I wish that were true

I'd never spotted Sca Fell from here before as it merges into the Coniston ridge, but today the greater snow cover gave enough contrast to make it out!

I can't see the crow. Maybe it's flown a different way today

nice shot, made me homesick. why does the sky change colour behind the tree?

why does the sky change colour behind the tree?
careless photoshopping
Posted 1 year ago # -
I never realised that was Sca Fell between the two.
Posted 1 year ago # -
HAve you photoshopped the sky? Its just the sky behind the tree on the right seems a different colour
EDIT And now reads the whole thread! DOH

What lens did you use for that pic then, Simon?

I was careless with the magic wand tool. The pic was initially very muddy so I had to play with the contrast on the sky to make it more realistic.
What lens did you use for that pic then, Simon?
same as usual silly boy

Which is?

me either! With it being so clear I could see it was further away, and when I drew a straight line from Lancaster town hall to Scafell Pike on Memory Map, it goes right over Coniston Old Man

Which is?
18-200mm Nikkor VR at 200mm

So why din't you just say that in the beginning when I first asked you, instead of calling me 'silly'? Hmm? How am I sposed to know what kit STWers use to take photygraphs??

I assumed you were taking the piss as you know I always use the same lens, and the lens isn't important anyway.

You've managed to upset me again, Barnes.
Your pic's rubbish anyway so there.

If you want blue sky - Dalbeattie was the place to be this morning! No photoshop, no filters, just pure blue sky and a bbrrrrr inducing -2 degree start!

IMG_0001 by simon ralli, on FlickrBut yeah, great pic of the hills.
