hi, i’m after the smallest 29er tyres i can find, or really big CX one’s.

i had some Bontrager 29×1.7 a couple of years back and reckon they’d be great now for my new project.

    any ideas? 😉

Schwalbe do a couple of really fat CX tyres. Landcruisers in 42mm are about 1.2″ width – I have some and they seem excellent tyres, a bit heavy but good traction on slippery winter bridleways and fairly decent puncture resistance. Cheap too. Or they do Smart Sams in about 1.5″ width – hit up Charlie the Bike Monger for more details.

I have been using 35mm CX tyres on my 29er, you do notice the diffence in BB height & makes my boring, none muddy local trails feel quite brisk.

My 29er rims taking the higher psi, has been my only worry mind.

Try JeJames they were knocking out Bonty tubeless ready 29×1.8 Jones tyres for about £15 a tyre.

I’ve just got some 1.9 29er tyres off here for my monstercross project. Can’t wait to see the on the bike when they arrive.
