    Hi

I posted on here Last week to say my front brake pads were sticking.

Went out for a ride after following advice on front brake pads and at the furthest point of my (luckily short) ride I started getting a grinding noise from my front wheel.

It seems the bearings are binding in the slx centre lock hub and the wheel is hardier to turn by hand. It looks like there was a good bit of space between the locknut and the cone on the non disc side and the locknut was loose.

It’s like the cones have tightened themselves up?!?!

They haven’t done a lot of mileage and not much in poor conditions as I’ve been off the bike over the winter or on my ss.

Anyone else had this happen? I guess the running surfaces in the hub will now be f00&ed…

    Sometimes they do

My mate had a rear XT rear hub that did it pretty much from new. Had to get quite angry on the cone spanners to make it stop

(I think he still has/uses the hub)
