I've had similar calls in the past informing me that as I have now had my kit for a year the warranty will shortly expire and would I like to stump up for cover…
I politely decline and when who ever on the other asks the inevitable question
" What would you do if it brokedown ? "
I explain that i would ring up and ask to get it repaired free of charge, they then say .. NO we wouldn't do that .
My next statement seems to baffle them …
If you won't repair it FOC then i'd just cancel the contract and move to cable "
I have never had to use this line yet but am fairly confident it will work, I pay Sky approx £80 amonth for the full works and I reckon they won't really want to lose customers like that… and if not then it's no problem to me … I'll give cable a try 🙂
One things for sure i'm not buying any type of extended warranty
