Yad Moss Near Alston in the Pennines. With ski lift 🙂

would recommend a 4×4 to get there.

In season it’s a great location as I have ski’d there loads of times.

The road from Alston is good and should be clear on all but extreme condition, no need for a 4×4

The road is fine to Yad Moss, there are other ski areas locally, Harwood 2 miles from Yad Moss towards Middleton in Teesdale and Weardale ski club between Weardale and Teesdale, if it has recently snowed you need a 4×4 or chains to get here.

Yad Moss and Weardale is members only at the weekend, Harwood sells day tickets.

Allenheads is currently open for business too.

I’ve been to yad moss and hardwood. Both pretty good if the snow,s decent. Also moss farm/another world in halifax. http://www.mountainboarding.co.uk it’s small but a good laugh for a couple of hours, cheap and you can pretty much always get on.

You can also join the Greenside lot at Glenridding….

The UK, or England? – because Scotland has a fair number of pretty well developed Ski areas – Ft William/Nevis Range being the obvious one for anyone who ride a mountain bike to be aware of.

My mum and her mates used to go up Cross Fell and Fountains Fell ski-ing in the 60s.
