Hey guys I’m going to change the triple to a single up front. Just wondering best chain guide. I want to do it on the cheap. I do more xc/all mountain riding than crazy balls out DH.

Are you going to use a NW ring, and is your rear mech clutch/Shadow +?

If so I’d try it without a guide. I’ve not had a dropped chain on my set-up for a year – Superstar NW ring, Zee rear mech, 11-36 SLX cassette – and that includes days at BPW and similar.

Hi I’m on the ancient 9 speed sram non clutch mech so was wondering if I would need a NW chainring and a chain guide??

If you’re going to replace the middle ring anyway then a thick/thin wouldn’t harm. As for a guide, I’d just go with a top guide. Lots at varying prices to be found on the usual websites.
