Only with a password like winrar winzip etc. No fancy public/private etc.

Any thoughts. What are you using ?

Acttualy I've answered my own questio... I'll use 7zip right click compress add password.

How secure does it have to be?

If you need actual security, Scaredypants is correct. If you just want to keep your partner from finding your pron then the way you've done it is fine.
