    Just a few quick pics from an excellent day yesterday. (More pics up later).

    One of the stars for me:

    When this lot fired up it was heaven!

    My new favourite road car:

    One of many XJ220

    And there is no escaping the beauty of a D-Type

    So much more appealing than current/modern motorsport to me 😀

    The old F1’s were stunning to watch, such a good noise! Not a patch on the V10 howl of the FW14B though, that was fun going through Becketts 8)

    Pity it rained for the Group C race at the end of the day, they were still impressive accelerating down the start/finish. So much power it took a few laps to take it in.

    I remember when they used to have classic sports car races as support to the f1 (and loads of other stuff) – iirc nick mason and Frank sytner were always the main protagonists.

    Yep. I was at Luffield when it started lapping. Brilliant!

    Still loving the Mclarens

    The classic F1 grid was awesome.

    Not picking up debris to make sure the weight was OK, this old Hesketh of Hunt’s was victim of a minor off to the gravel;

    XJ220 again. 25 years old, £470,000 when new with a top speed of 212mph on the road versions and they had 42 at Silverstone this year.

    Who doesn’t love an E-Type?

    Love that E-type but the one thing I find unfathomable about the XJ220 is why they still seem to be worth less now than they were when new when everything else has skyrocketed?

    Are they really that badly thought of that in these times of skyrocketing fords they can’t even make the showroom price?
