Hands up those who want to abolish democracy.

To be honest, if the people who think big brother, eastenders and strictly come dancing are reality are the same people who vote for the decision makers of the country, ban democracy.

Britain isn't a democracy – it's a mediocracy

Its a mediacracy, in reality we've no idea as to whether we have a government that is succeeding or failing in any issue, or whether any policy would succeed or fail in addressing an issue if any party did it there way. We don't even no if the issue is really an issue, we just have the newspaper headlines saying "IT JUST GOT WORSE!"

To have democracy you need voters to make an informed choice, but theres so much bullshit in the air we wouldn't know information if it stuck its arse in our face, voters vote on the strength of vague hunches.

To be fair that fact that we can spout this ill informed nonsense which in many countries would be regarded as, if not treason exactly, then certainly something the security services would take a passing interest in, suggests that our democracy, while ailing in so many ways, has some life left in it yet.

Forward the revolution, but do it quietly without inconveniencing anyone.
