OK, I’m sick of hauling my 30.75lb rig around the trails.

Give me some inspiration – I’m hankering after a 24-25lb bike again!

I built this uber light 22lbs but it rode like a wooden horse so beefed it up as trailish bike and probably weighs less than 24lbs? 3.6lbs frame.

Personally I could be the one that needs to lose weight not the bike!

So what if your bike weighs more-how does it ride?

Feel free to recoil in horror, but you can ride trails on it, and without the rack and guards it weighs a fair bit less than 25 lb. 🙂

Why does your new bike have to be so heavy?

    Currently 20.7lbs

‘dyls, with reflectors and pedal platforms, please tell me that was taken when you picked the bike up from the shop!’

haha, if I’m honest it took me quite a while to figure out how to remove the platforms.

sheldona, that top one would be lighter without that stupid extra tube

    😉

And the third one would be considerably lighter without the retard on board 😉

How does that On-one weigh 22.5lbs pinches? I’m suspicious…. BTW you have a curious saddle angle!

Just been building this up today – weighed in at 23.4lbs without bottle cages; tyres are well over 600g each so could save a bit there. BTW, the zip-ties are helping the chain protector stick properly….

20.57lbs. And that’s with risers, not the silly flat bars in the picture.

No silly german stuff. Nothing with a weight limit.

    Silly tyres though!

2.1 Ignitor on the front and a Crossmark on the back? Silly by ‘not a downhill tyre’ standards maybe. Don’t believe in paper bag tyres, Maxxis 285/310 Schwalbe Rocket Ron etc.

    Around 22lbs.

Fair enough – from what I could see they looked like 285/310s which is what MSC seem to come specced with!

What’s the frame weight and other spec on that – curious how you’ve got it almost a lb lighter than mine with no particularly obvious lighter bits.

The MSC FS frames are stupidly light, (just over 3lbs without shock, so sub 3.5lbs with a DT Carbon) it’ll be interesting to see how they last!

Their WCR hardtail seems flexy, a bit fragile, not that light and stupidly expensive, but the Carbon Koncept appears to be spot on. I really want to try one.

21lbs, weight limit on the seatpost, but nothing crazy and German 😉

Ah, there’s the lb right there. Just crazy and Spanish then!

Does a F99 stem or Tune hubs count as crazy and German? If so guilty as charged. No weight limits though.

Only the Superscharf or Prince/Princess hubs are crazy, normal King & Kongs are good.

Frame is 1600g bang on with a Fox Float RP23. Medium, whatever that is in real measurements. How long will it last? Doubt I’ll get to find out, as I’m only 59kg and will likely receive a 2010 one for next season. Has been very reliable so far though, about 40hr racing and 100 or so riding without anything going wrong.

Is pretty much as light as I’m comfortable taking it. F99 stem or Pace/DT forks are both items I’ve owned and disliked due to the lack of confidence they inspire, so I’m not willing to go down the route of weight for the sake of it again.
