Thinking of getting bike (rare Airborne Thunderbolt road bike) resprayed but not sure what colour.
Currently laquered raw aluminium frame with carbon weave (raw) fork.
Need inspiration and recommendation of where to get a top job (I’m in East Mids)…and what I should expect to pay.
Also, I would like to use the same graphics but not sure they exist anywhere – any ideas?

    Cheers!

Argos racing cycles will do a top job, you’ll need to send it off but the quality is second to none.

I had my Genesis Altitude 853 done by Bob Jacksons in Leeds. Not the best pics but you get the idea.

It’s not been done recently but here’s a link to my cotic soul that I got repaired and resprayed by Cupar Bikes. They knocked a big dent out of it and resprayed it all as well as putting on the decals for about £120 if I remember correctly. They did a great job.

2011 giant trinity, the previous owner had the bike stollen from him an they made a right mess of the frame, I stripped it all back with paint stripper on the frame and thinners on the carbon fork, I then had a local automotive car sprayer spray it in black with white on the inside edges the stickers were from a local sign writter I gave him the sizes and ideas an he came back with that, there not lacquered over but nothing stopping them being so , stickers and frame sprayed for 100quid, so my suggestion is to try locally to you see what you can find ?http://imgur.com/6O9vg2L

Mine, stripped off top paint and decals, primed, and resprayed in British Racing Green with a laquery top coat by me with rattle cans. Looks nice and seems to be quite durable.

Got my old Explosif enamelled in RAL5014 pigeon blue. I loved the Singular Swift and spent many obsessive hours matching the colour. Done by Argos along with some repair work in 2008. Cracked the frame last Autumn 🙁

Just seen that like most, I completely failed to answer anything other than the title.

    Dave Yates’ prices here: http://www.daveyatescycles.co.uk/custom_bike_frames-Prices-52.php

Which I think are about on a par with others, powder coating will always be a good slice cheaper, and if it comes out as nice as Vortexracing’s Kona, why not? Harder to strip/blast off if and when you want a refresh, though.

    Decals, try here http://www.hlloydcycles.com/

or Gil at the cycleshed has been recommended on here.

Or keep it understated and just get a headtube badge from someone like Geoff Moorhouse – http://www.heavygoods.org.uk/Headbadge.htm – the Dekerf one in the middle at the bottom is the one I had made for mine up there ^

my 1999 Orange Patriot, Powdercoated by R and R powder coatings in Ripon for £42.
A further £18 for the bb and headtube to be reamed and headset cups fitted by my lbs (ironhorse cycles in Darlington)

    before-

    after-

Not bothering with stickers, just the headtube badge.

    The colour is ral6013

Ned, I’ll be recoating my Genesis Alpitude soon, and I’ll need to remove the head badge. Are they just glued/taped on? What’s the best way to remove them if I want to reuse it?
