I've just been drooling over some of the pictures…..
I know some of you guitarists change your guitars like Ton changes his bikes. So c'mon, show me your guitar that you haven't shown me before.
Bit of a newbie but getting the bug for wanting more!
SG copy
Tom Delonge Strat project, been working on this for about 2 months now getting parts from ebay, just waiting for the seymour duncan invader pickup to arrive then its time to get the soldering iron out; I have literally no idea what I am doing – should be fun!
should give me a nice thrash metal type of sound anyway if I ever get it to work 🙂
@flip – That big Jazzer in the middle looks fabulous.
@geminafantasy – You take good pictures. That SG looks great, and that Neck Plate….very artistic.
@Angela – A Tatra Classic!!??!!! Wow! Haven't seen one of those in a long long time!!! How do I ask about it without digging a hole for myself? OK tell me about it? 🙂
@tazzymtb – Nice one. What sort of stuff do you play on it? As much as I like Lemmy, I love the Ricky Bass sound on the early Cure stuff.
Please – Keep 'em coming. Guitars are probably more beautiful than bikes! 🙂
SB…my Tatra was my first guitar…got it xmas 1975 when I was 11! It's a bit old and worn now but I've no intention of getting rid. It's really worn around G, D7, C and Em…just about the only chords I could play when I first learned! 😀
I'll replace it when I find a decent nylon-strung acoustic!!
I do love my new Crafter though…play it everyday. 8)
Angela – So you're 35 then! 😉 Yes, keep it for sure. Maybe you could get it repaired/refretted? Plus, I know what you mean about replacing it. I have an old battered classical guitar that i've had for years. I'd love a new one, but when I go and try some in a shop they're just not as good.
BTW – I saw my first Tatra classic in 1972. I was 17 at the time. It belonged to a girl I was chasing! 🙂
SB…I'd have bought a new classical instead of the Crafter but couldn't find one for love nor money! I'm doing a load of Spanish stuff at the moment which just doesn't sound the same on steel strings.
My Tatra still plays OK, especially when I got around to re-stringing it! 😉
My local shop stocks upward of 600 guitars and had only one classical to try. I'll get one one day when I can get to a specialist guitar shop.
My next purchase will be a Fylde… 8)
What I currently have lounging about the front room, got a few more in the workshop but dont have pics, the two gibsons I've had for about ten years, the blonde tele is a US custom shop build and the thinline sunburst tele, I built for a customer and they never paid for it, I liked it and kept it rather than sell it on.
SB- I'm an old gothy/alternative so funnily enough lots of nephilim/cure/sisters etc.. I use rotosound flat wound strings on it to give a really rich sound
Left to Right:
Hamer Studio
Gibson Les Paul Studio (Swamp Ash) – just bought today 😉
Gordon-Smith (Custom built many, many years ago!)
Not played for years, but kind of been on a voyage of self rediscovery the last few weeks, and decided that a Les Paul was the answer… actually – I popped in to get a new amp that wasn't as loud as the Mesa-Boogie .50 Caliber, bought a Peavey Windsor Studio 15W Valve Combo that I was considering, and then the credit card "slipped".
Awesome 🙂 I've wanted a Tom DeLonge strat for ages, even though I'm not much of a strat person. Got a body lying around doing **** all, might get a cheap neck and tuners for it and I'll have a complete guitar, give it a respray and job'll be a good'un 🙂
Here's my no.1, got it in January as a 21st birthday present and absolutely love it. Hardly ever play my Les Pauls any more, just prefer the thinner/lighter body – fits perfectly. Gibson SG Standard
