Thinking of fitting a 29+ on the front of my ss el Mariachi – please show me your set-ups, especially if you have cro-moto forks
    Thanks

Sorry it’s not a very good picture.

Almost as smooth as when it’s got a fatfront on but quite a bit quicker on the climbs.

Thanks stu – did you get a complete wheel with surly hub? Thinking about pro2 evo for flexibility…
Did you do anything special to set it up tubeless?

    Surly hub? 😯

    No mate it’s a Whub. 🙂

Gorilla tape and a bolt in vale for tooblessing.
All the Surly rims work dead easy like that.

Sorry no photo but would be worthwhile checking the fork width. I’ve got one in my swift fork mounted on a P35 rim and there is only a couple of mm clearance on each side of the tyre. It’s fine for my testing purposes as a stepping stone to fat front but i’m not sure it would be much use in the winter with whatever 29+ nate equiv surly release.

At the moment, as far as i’m aware, it’s Surly’s Knard tyre and nowt else. Fits on a 29er rim but is about 3″ wide and as a result is relatively high volume. Knard at low pressure works nicely on rigid fronts to provide a bit more cushion.

    Ron Jeremy – that looks like standard 29 in a 26 cro-moto?

Taz – what is the width between the blades on your forks please?

    Thanks all

    Gota.

They might fit on a standard 29er rim but that’s kind of missing the point of a 3″ tyre. 😉

    Oxy,

Yep had a 29 wheel and a 26 fork, so just thought I’d see if it works and it does and rather well too

Stu – fair point and worth clarifying; building a wheel up from scratch a rabbit hole would definitely be the way to go. In my case it was just a test since i had the p35 built up and i’m patiently waiting for a jones test ride.

I’ve been considering 29+ in my DT Swiss rigid fork (which has dimension similar to Tazzy’s Ti fork by the looks of it; plenty of room).

If anyone is upgrading to a Rabbithole wheel and wants to sell their P35 rim or complete wheel (on a 100mm hub, no Jones hubs please!), drop me a msg.

Anyone know if 29+ is feasible with an On-One Carbon fork?
