I have an old pair of s-works shoes from about 2005 that were excellent. However my one year old 2011 pair are totally cr4p.

the boa laces are constantly getting stuck and tangled up inside the dial.

I believe this is a common problem but not one I wish to deal with anymore.

Any recommendations for a good reliable race shoe

Get a pair of 2009 ish Specialized Experts. Velcro fastenings, carbon sole and slightly pimpy silver colour. 3 years old so can generally be had for cheap as well.

    darrell,

I had been using specialized for years but recently tried some giro codes and they are so comfy and so far have been ultra reliable !

Shimanos? M300s can be had cheap from Royles online, or some new pimptastic M315s.

I have 2 pairs of the M300s from Royles, one for training and one kept nice for racing. Now 2 years old, used an awfully large amount and still in one piece.
