  • Shoes that are good for SPD and flat, do they exist?

Any suggestions? My current ones are overdue replacement and I’ve always ridden clips but would like to try flats to try and improve confidence on the steeper stuff. Would like a pair that cope with both as I run one bike, would be good to try flats but not be tied into them, can’t afford multiple shoes.

My five ten Maltese falcons ride spd’s and flats, even with cleats attached

Got some of the shimano battle star gallactica boat anchors. Worked well with flats and spds.

Another vote for the Maltese Falcons. Very good for hiking as well. I would remove the cleats before riding flats, because they protrude a few millimetres from the sole, which affects the flat grip IMHO.
