On my SLX SLX M670 cranks, I appear to have stripped the interface on the left crank arm between it and the axle, which surprised me! The axle splines looks fine. It started with an ominous grinding noise and a mile or so later started spinning freely of the other arm. The pinch bolts didn’t appear loose but there was a layer of mud in the gad as well as the plastic spacer thing!

I’m kind of guessing this might not be a warranty repair. I don’t particularly want to buy a new chainset now as I might buy a new bike with x01 in a couple months. Getting a replacement M670 arm might be tricky though. Does anyone know if these arms are interchangeable with old slx or xt or whatever? I don’t mind it looking a bit ghetto at the moment….

So long as its a shimano mtb HT2 then it’ll fit fine.
