    Hi,

Planning to take new rig for a spin around The Peaks but do not want to start too late. Only Sunday is available for me and trains are crap Sunday.

Therefore can only get to Sheffield in time.

An the question stands: is there any short-ish hike from Sheffield into riding worthy area towards The Peaks?

I only know trails around Edale, Hope, Castleton and Hayfield, but that is a bit of a trip from Sheffield…

    Cheers!

Town centre to Hope Valley is about under an hour’s ride, mostly off road.

Get to Endcliffe Park, that’s where the trail starts. A mostly off road route to Ringinglow then head towards Stanedge Pole (sic) via Redmires and go down The Causeway. After that, head to Bamford and join the trail network at Bamford rec (Station Road), there’s a disused railway track (used to build the dams) that climbs to Ladybower. Many routes open up from there.

I don’t quite get the logic of this but why not park at the top of the hill? Like redmires or ringinglow. Got to save time over riding it?

Now I’ve read it again I do. Doh

    Hi,

The logic is simple. Don’t have a car 🙂

    Cheers!
