After my recent bereavement (http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/stolen-bikes-brighouse-west-yorks), it would appear that I need to beef up my shed security.

Shed alarm is high on the list, anyone got any recommendations? Seen some on Amazon at about £20 that seem to get decent reviews, but first hand experience welcome. Ta

A bit more than a shed alarm, but wireless and don;t need mains, these give out a proper alarm amount of decibels. I have one in my shed (brick, but doesn’t matter).

Ive got one of these, and it has actually stopped my bike being nicked.

I like the fact it has a separate siren so even if they disable the first one they still have to find the second one

Mine’s brick built too, with steel gates locked over the doors. Didn’t stop the buggers!

I like the look of both of those. Twin sounders seems a good idea, I have somewhere a second sounder could go that they’d never find! 🙂

I have a standalone one from wilkos which goes off with pin code, and then a PIR/contact which links to the main house alarm. As most sheds get done at night with owners asleep definitely worth fitting.

Thankfully I bought and installed one of the alarms funkydunc recommended because the thieving see you next tuesdays came back for another go last night. Alarm sent them packing, nothing taken. Shame I didn’t get down the stairs a bit quicker!

Bit of damage, not much though. Rightly or wrongly I’d deliberately left the door they bust last time in a not entirely secure state to encourage them to go for that one, and into direct path of alarm sensor. Bastards were still hanging round though to see if we woke up, legged it as I opened the window. Looks like they had a look earlier in the week, neighbour saw a van hanging around early hours of weds morning. I’m getting a big nasty dog and never feeding it!
