I offered to plan a ride for a group of friends, one of whom (not me), has an Edge 800. I downloaded the BaseCamp software and talkytoaster.net OSM maps, and have got the route sorted. The plan is to export my route as a .gpx from BaseCamp, and email it to him, so he can then load it onto his Garmin. However, his Garmin is running ‘paid for’ Garmin mapping rather than the OSM stuff I’ve used. Is the route likely to work the same on the different map sets, or will we get loads of weird diversions and waypoints in the next field? The route is using on-road routing.
