Share some US of A riding around LA in April???

I'm visiting family in Venice, LA, in April and i was hoping that i might be able to meet some local riders who would allow me to share their trail knowledge for a few days.
Can anyone help me?

Big Bear in mid-May was good fun, not sure what the snow cover in April will be like. Only 2hrs from LA I think?
