i've found the source of my clicking and the culprit is my right pedal.

i've removed the hex screw from the pedal, but can't get to the bolt inside in order to remove the axle.

    any help?

    cheers.

It's just an 8mm socket IIRC, the bearing can be knocked out from the other side.

yup, i can see the 8mm nut but i can't get to it with my socket set.

    is there something i'm missing?

    edit: oh, and thanks!

You might need a narrower socket, mine tapers towards the end is yours flat/straight?

    No probs.

nope… the 8mm socket i've got seems too small for the bolt. the 9mm won't fit into the hole where the bolt sits.

    bugger.

ok… the nut is 9mm and another housemate has a socket set that fits!

    it's open… now what?

    cheers tails,

the wellgo's don't have loose bearings. they've a tiny industry bearing at the outside end and what looks like a nylon bushing on the inside.

i've greased it up good and stuck it back in and tightened it all up. seems to have cured the clicking.

it also means i can re-fit the 'old' BB as that obviously wasn't the cause of the click.

    cheers folks!

yeah that should be fine often parts just need coating in grease, pedals being one of those items.
