Righto, need a 27.2 post for my Dialled Bikes Alpine with a bit of lay back ie 10 – 15mm or so.

Don't want a layback Thomson as i don't think they look right.

BUT, I want one that will last in terms of finish like a Thomson.

    any recommendations?

also whats the difference between EA30 and EA50 hardly any weight as far as I can see, so is the EA50 stronger?

and to finish what are these like?

NC-17 Empire post, they are only £24

Think they look pretty good, myself.

Higher the number for Easton stuff, the better it is. If its not weight, it might be strength. Or maybe that marginal weight difference is the only difference.

    Same bike, same dilemma.!
Solved with NC17, working well, finish still intact after mudfests of the summer!
Had EA50 and Thomson and finish wasn`t any better on either of those

Got the NC-17 here. As good as anything else I've used.

got an nc-17. Black finish wears more than a Thomson when you move it up and down, but probably less than an easton. Its also abour 230g for a 30.9 * 400 which is very light.

can't fault it other than that

I've decided on a controltech – 20mm setback at the head (as opposed to bent post), 400mm long and pretty light.

at 3mm thick I think they are built like a brick out house.

will e-mail Graham direct but I know nothing other start and end @ Lee Quarry.
    Cheers for lift
seeing as you are in such a good mood (that night away from kids ?) I will get you to finish my Cutter LED at the end then 😉

    will do.

might be better if you pop over one night, rather than trying to sort it after a 30 mile ride. I couldn't stay awake after the last one, let alone solder

I thought so too but snapped mine. It was welded into a broken frame as a temperoary fix though and lasted about 3 months before snapping, about twice as long I expected 🙂 The head design is reasonable (much better than a single bolt) but not a patch on race face ones.

If you want a long lasting cosmetic finish, then the EA70 isn't really up to it. I've had mine for a few rides and the anodising is well worn already. It's a great piece of kit otherwise.
