  • Seat has come off one of it's rails

Took a bit of a tumble yesterday and my seat has come off one of it's rails.

Spent the last 30 mins trying to get it back on with no joy. Any tips?

Seat is Fizik Gobi – titanium rails I believe and seem completely unbendable.

    Thanks in advance

buy a new seat, the amount of force required to get the seat back on the rail is immense, if you do manage it you might have weakened it?

I've successfully got a rail back in (also Titanium) by clamping 2 seatposts onto the rail and using the leverage available to bend the rail enough to pop it back in. Still required a fair bit of grunting, but worked well and the saddle lasted ages afterwards, no problems.

Thanks. Worth a try guess if I'm only gonna need a new one any way!

i've done it. Ti sdg bel air. one rail clamped in a big vice, then the biggest set of mole-grips i could lay my hands on, clamped on teh errant one, with the longest screwdriver i could find through them. took a bit of grunt, but has been doing service on my HT for 2 years since.
