  • Sealed bearings for external BB are they all the same?

    Does anyone know if Hope/CK/RF external sealed bearings are interchangeable?

    Just about to replace my Hope SS ones which have lasted me just over a year?

    I don't know for sure but I think the Hope ones are different, as they sit directly on the crank axle whereas the Shimano/Acros ones use a placky top hat between the axle and the bearing, hence the inner diameter is smaller on the Hopes.

    I replaced my Hope ones recently and the SS ones were £15 each.
