It’s been a while since I’ve done an MTB Marathon event, actually about 10 years ago was the last when they were Kona.

Fancy the Church Stretton one as its reasonably local, but have this half-idea to take the Cannondale SuperX rather than the Five. From what I can recall of the series when I last rode, nothing was stunningly technical, just grinding out the miles on single track and fireroad. So I’m thinking the CX bike may actually make for a better day out.

Anyone ridden it in the last couple of years care to comment?

I did the Church Stretton round last year and seem to recall there was a bit in Eastridge Woods – this could be quite exciting on a CX bike as it was fairly steep and muddy with some tight, twisty bits in places.
