My wife and I are planning a weekend away next weekend and we’d love to be shown around some wildernessand learn about things a bbit! Does anyone know of someone whi does such tours/walks etc? She will be 37 weeks pregnant so we won’t manage hill climbing.

    Thanks.

Check out the the likes of Cairngorm NP for ranger led walks.

I think the guy that does them is called Grant McGrant.

I believe they are funded by the Scottish Government too, by way of an annual grant.

Dumfries and Galloway run something called “Wild Seasons” which offers loads of countryside related stuff. At the moment ehry;re obviously on Wild Spring

We were there last year and went on a boat tour of loch ken with the ranger – should have been out for 2 hours, it was closer to four hours in the end. and it was all free. Worth a check if that’s the area you;re interested in

Wow, I had no idea I had made so many typos in that! Thanks for the replies, all taken on board. I think we’ve settled on Aviemore so will focus the search. Ranger walks sound good.
