So, road bike sort of working but new cranks have changed the chainline. Given my awfully cack handed BB work yesterday I figured I'd validate my thinking.
New crankset is wider than before so I should, by my thinking, change the H limit screw to pull the mech out a little and the L to follow it (although it doesn't fall off so may just leave that). Sound about right?
