You’ve got to do some serious hunting if you want a bargain price as well. It’s easy to think you can get any old banger for a couple of hundred quid but sadly eBay has turned everything into a ‘classic’.

Gumtree is the place to go for cheap cars. I just picked up a J Reg MR2 with 7 months MOT for £330.

It needs a few things done to it but it would probably drive OK till the MOT run out if I leave it as is.

Most of the cars that people refer to as ‘rubbish’ on this list weren’t particularly bad when they came out, and especially looking at the standards of the time. Whereas those on the OP’s list were dreadful.

The only recent car that was crap when it came out that I can remember, and got rightfully panned was the City Rover. Early Hyundai’s were quite poor too.
