Can anyone suggest some good natural trails around Keswick? Mbr had a route round Blencathra but I can’t find the old copy.

    Cheers

    Borrowdale
Leave Keswick round the lake on the East Shore, Turn left up to Whatendlath from the farm the end follow the BW over the top to Rosswaite up road to Honister then back down BW towards Castle Crag & Grange From grange BW on side of Catbells (low) then back to Keswick via Portinscale.

Blencathra way there is a BW from Skiddaw house YH that goes down the valley and round the back of the fells – other routes involve riding on Railway line to Keswick Up through Threkeld & Blencathra Centre Follow East side of Valley then return on the West Side

Maps in KMB in town of both these routes

If you add the BW to Mosedale and the trail over the Caldbeck Fells and return via Whitewater Dash Falls to the above route it makes for a vary good all day ride

I’ll 2nd the route suggested by Trekster.

Up to Skiddaw House and along the bridleway to Mosedale, up the road to Calebreck then over the mining trails to Fellside and back via Whitewater Dash.

It’s a good days riding. I loved the bit from Skiddaw House towards Mosedale.
