    Yeah, no question about that. I suppose my point was that if you want to not have them on all of the time, it’s easier to remove the whole thing in one go than faff with the carriers.

    Or turn the radio up 😉

    Hmmm. The Whispbars are supposed to be very quiet but don’t know if I can live with the noise from carriers all the time. Or indeed the faff if removing and refitting is that much of a ball ache

    I’d bet good money that you won’t be able to tell the difference between the Whispbars and cheap box-section rails if you leave the bike carriers on, although they’ll certainly be quieter when run “naked”.

    I have a hybrid and sometimes like to spin around the country lanes with the windows down enjoying the quietness now that the weather is nice, I can’t have whistling bike carriers interfering with my horrendous sense of middle-class smugness!

    I spent the weekend fitting ProRack rails to our Kia Sportage. It was super fiddly so allow a decent amount of time to get them fitted!
