Despite being a "local" I have never really got on with Ae and have always found it a bit of a slog.
However having not ridden it for about a year I thought I would give it a birl this evening for a change. There had been some university racing going on for a couple of days so the first part was nicely compacted from all the traffic, and the fire road was also nice and firm.
The trail fairies have done a great job on the lieks of granny green love, and on the bit at the top further on (dont know the name) that I used to hate that had that bad size of hard core, has now been finished off so you can swoop across it..
The edge has also had some tlc on it and with the trees being felled it gives more of a sense of exposure going down it now. I was getting dark so had to short cut the Omega man.
So a big improvement overall to what it was like a year ago.
