Or do they need to. Thinking about purchasing a new frame and have a solid set of components to bring across.

Was thinking whether I could just fit the Lyriks or would I need a new pair of forks? if I buy frame only

    Cheers

Fairly sure there’s no conversion possible. Quite a few reports on mtbr of people using a 650b wheel in a lyrik from back in the day before there were lots of 650b forks. From the sound of it you need to be careful with tyre choice, very tall ones only just clear the arch, there might be very little mud room inside. It is possible though, and the tyre should clear the crown as well.

Rumour was you can fit 650b boxxer lowers, but that’ll cost as much as the forks are worth. You could probably squeeze a little tyre in but nothing that’s really suitable for the sort of riding you want lyriks for, imo.
