So, as some of you might have read yesterday, I’ve managed to crack the steerer in my venerable EC70 full carbon forks.

GeeTee1972 has kindly offered me a spare pair he’s got floating around, but they’re a slightly different rake – 45mm versus my 43mm.

So how much does the 2mm matter? I’m guessing it’ll make the bike a little more stable in a straight line (more castor?), but slightly more inclined to “flop” once it’s pulled off centre – but by a noticeable amount…??

    Thanks!

It’ll reduce trail a little, so quicker steering, but its quite subtle.
