Last night I tried to put some Shimano Pro rigid carbon forks on my Stanton Sherpa. I have a 1.5 degree works components headset zs44/ec44 already installed.

As the surface area of the fork crown/steerer tube junction is much bigger than my fox 32’s it contacts the bottom cup of the headset at front of the headtube when preloaded. Has anyone experienced this and found a solution?

    Thanks

The only thing I can think of is a lightly thicker crown race. I know it’s not actually a “race” but you know what I mean…

The solution is to buy a bike with the desired geometry in the first place.

Extended crown race it is then, thanks. Samcheese I know where you live.
