    I’m a child of the computer, if not internet generation, I’d find it brilliant to not be within human contact but within internet connectivity.

    Can the world be big enough to house selected peoples need to escape but also share

    Bit late, heres my supper of steak and wild garlic… cooked on a Vargi Ti Meths stiove at 38g.

    and this is the morning view… bit cloudy, but still nice. Slept well, overslept til 9am, woken by a sniffing hound.

    And here is the bike… ready to ride to SSEC, and ready to race at SSEC.

    Sounds like quite an adventure! Waking up to the sound of the sea must be a terrific start to the day.

    Perhaps when you return you could let me know about your frame bag and saddle pack – where from, did they work, comments?

    Thank you so much. 🙂

    still s8tannorm – thanks. Been keeping half an eye on the bivi thread and don’t those have long delivery times? Seem to remember a British company will be introducing a similar concept?

    I’m just looking for something that will do for an overnight B & B – not camping or bivying – and don’t want to use panniers again.

    Alpkit mentioned something in their blog about doing a prototype frame bag for James Cracknell (I think). That would be decent, as they’re normally great value (although I’m still waiting for their mountain tent to go on sale)

    It’s a revelate frame bag, keep my bladder in there and steak etc

    Cheers chaps.
    The bar and seat pack are bargain genius, nothing fancy;
    £20 for a four pack of Exped dry bags
    Three surly junk straps- these are 120cm long toe straps.

    Bivy on the bars
    Sleeping bag on saddle
    Airbed, wooly sleeping socks etc in camel

    Top tip; Go silly light on your sleeping bag (snugpak Travelpak at £30 700-800g) sleep in a goosedown jacket (500g) And wear leggings and socks. and toss a pocket warmer in to the bottom of your sleeping bag. Toasty.
