Had a Lumi battery already so just bought the DD light unit with a modified plug.
Holy bejesus, it's bright....I was grinning like a loon everytime I put it on boost

yeah this is a great light. On a ride a few night ago and compared it directly against a hope vision 4 and the old halogen flood/spot lumicycle combo. Much brighter and far longer throw than either of these other lights, and contrary to my earlier post, no signs of getting too hot on boost. I think it is so bright on boost that after a while you lose some of your night vision and you can think it's not going to level 5 because it looks like only level 4, but in fact it is still on 5, it's just that your vision has changed!
I went down a long fast descent a couple of nights ago and I realised when I'd got to the bottom that I'd done it at daylight speeds, i.e. I was able to see just as well as if it had been in the middle of the day. My only critiscm is that the beam shape is not a very wide flood, there is limited light at the very wide periphery but this only comes into play on very tight weaving slow singletrack such as in between trees in the local woods. Overall I am hugely impressed with the light including the build quality.

Flashy that the only version only one in the whole wide world .
it started off larger and heavier and I kept cutting bits off to lighten it .

How bizarre! James emailed me to say he had sent it 1st class on Monday, was wondering where it had got to.He was going off on holiday, so perhaps in the rush he got the addresses mixed up

James posted me the Spidereyes, which I tried tonight along with a borrowed Dominator.
So Spidereyes on lid Dom on bars, what a laugh. The only draw back was the drizzle and wearing glasses.
They are truly astounding. Now the problem of working out which to actually buy.
I've just noticed Sir Trout's note saying this one's a one off, noooooooooooo it can't be, it's too much fun.......
I stopped at my mate's on the way home he lives on the third floor of a big Victorian house. I got him to come to the window to see what the hell was shining on his ceiling.............

When you have done with it I would like it back to strip and give to the machinist to have a look at as want to try and keep some of the bonkers looks too .
If anyone else wants a try I will swop it for the MK2 and send back out.
Hopefully might get some metal cut before xmas

to give anyone who cares any idea how good spidereyes is:
You know those cinematic scenes where dim lighting of the protagonists face is then made bright in a rectangle around their eyes?
Well the trail ahead is your scene, and the singletrack is given the perfect, bright rectangle (where bunnies/squirrels and any other living thing will dessicate before your very eyes.
My speed was managed by a brilliant Dream Theatre album running at about 210bpm. Not once did my singlespeed beasting session did I feel like I was going too fast to hold the pace (until I turned it off and relied upon my sturdy exposure 720 lumen candle!
