Hi guys, ive just moved to Ripponden and was wondering if anybody lives/rides around this area, there looks to be loads of potential but its hard to get started without any “base” knowledge of local routes.

    Any info would be appreciated,

    thanks

There’s a few on here who know the area better but i’ve done a little bit round there.
It all depends how far you want to ride.
For local stuff to you it’s worth pedalling up to Norland Moor as there is a few good runs there.
For a longer epic you could link up a route over to hebden bridge, there’s one i read in a local guidebook that looked pretty reasonable.
There’s plenty of local cheeky stuff to you but you’ll need to scout it out a bit. Worth scouring through strava and heatmaps to identify segments and locals loops.

Or head west/north west to the crag vale/pennine bridalway area, plenty of choice.
