Simon Richardson MBE.

original tweet;

"For your information simon has been involved in an accident and is in hospital"

roadcc update from twitter;

"not good, he's pretty bashed up. Broken back, pelvis and breast bone is initial assessment. Hit from behind.."

his story;

[i]In 2001 Simon Richardson was struck from behind by a car doing 6o mph. The accident shattered his leg and broke his back in 2 places. With a ratchet support system fitted to his spine Simon used his love for cycling to rebuild his body.

His story is an inspiration.

In 2008 he became part of the now legendary success of the Great Britain cycling team at the Beijing Paralympics.

Simon took two Gold medals and a Silver medal in Beijing, he was awarded an MBE by the Queen in the new years honours list.

Small white van, heading for Cowbridge. Let's keep 'em peeled.

EDIT: I've read the article properly now, Police have a suspect in custody.
