Having bent my 3rd Reverb lever/plunger at the weekend (and this time scoring the internals) I’m looking for an alternative.

Anyone tried one of these? I really like my Southpaw on the hardtail and comparing the price of this to replacing with another crappy RS remote it seems a bit of a bargain.

Are you running the standard reverb remote above the bars? Below the bars is much better

Right hand remote under the bars on the left, admittedly works better than above but still too vulnerable in a crash and a poorly designed remote.

That Novypart lever popped up on here recently – its how it should come from the factory!

It’s the one thing I’m good at Steve!

You should knock some of these up… how had could it be? 😉

£25-30 and I’ll buy three for a start.

Considering replacement remote from RS is £50 (and how useless they are!) I think £70 delivered is pretty good to be fair.

At £70 you’re almost halfway to new seatpost, with a cable operated tougher remote 😉

    that does look very solid!

The problem with having the remote under the bars is it doesn’t then follow the arc of your thumb. I find mine easier above the bars, it’s just very vulnerable.

The shifters are under the bars and they seem to work just fine :/

TBH the reverb remote is pretty clumsy whether above or below- the shape means you’re pushing “inwards”, away from your hand regardless of which way up it is, which is awkward. Can’t say I really like anything about it, this looks way better.

Yup, but they’re a nice long paddle for your glove to slip over, and there’s negligable load on it. The Reverb remote requires you to push in a certain direction with some force, and it’s not in line with where your thumb wants to go.

On top of the bar seemed better, I guess because it puts the button closer to your knuckles so your thumb isn’t sweeping through an arc.

I’ve got a reverb, it does it’s job, but it’s a pretty poor design all round if I’m honest. There’s a lot I’d expect to change if RS ever release a Mk2.

There was me thinking 50 quid for the specialised cable one was pricey !

This is the mk2. Or possibly 3. All the changes from the mk1 were just to make it work properly after the paying beta test.

You are correct, the linear action of the Reverb remote requires the finger to move in an unnatural fashion. I somehow thought your comment referred to the Novyparts remote.

I couldn’t believe the price of it! Glad it comes included with the posts now – you get both types with the IRcc post – as it works very well.

Ive got 2 of the Novyparts leavers, 1 on my cx and 1 on my bronson, they are so much better than the rockshox original. It makes it easier to move the post small amounts and takes less effort also just looks better. It works well on drop bars as well which i couldn’t get the rockshox leaver to do.
