Reading the instructions it says to use “friction paste” in the seat tube rather than grease. Do yo uall avoid grease? And what on earth is friction paste?

Carbon assembly paste. However, the reverb on the wife’s bike is dry as it comes out often enough not to seize.

Thanks – it will have to be dry tonight!

If it doesn’t slip and you don’t need to overtighten the clamp, dry is find. Just don’t leave it there all year for fear of seizing.

Excuse my thickness but I now have the thing fitted (after much phaff as I still have old skool narrow bars). Is there something that has to be tightened / untightened on the collar. I’m sat on the thing and it doesn’t move!!

May need a bleed if you’ve shortened the hose?

You may have over-tightened the seat post clamp as well?
