  • Revelations with X2 Brakes – both post mount – 180mm rotor – what adaptor?

So, what adaptor do I need to mount the caliper? I was previously running the same brakes on some older IS Revelations, but RS seem to have changed their standard. The X2s came with an IS adaptor that effectively added 20mm, but looks like I need something like a +20mm Post to Post adaptor? Does such a thing exist? I cant be trying to do anything particularly out of the ordinary, bog standard forks, calipers and rotor after all.

    cheers

It’s a 183mm rotor you need, and mount adaptor H (link).

Thanks for the help, not the most useful description on CRC:

“Hope mount adaptor to mount a 74mm post mount caliper (i.e. Hayes, Avid, etc) to a 74mm post mount fork (i.e. Manitou) to accomodate a 183mm rotor”

Refers to Hayes and Avid calipers but not Hope themselves.

There’s a selection of the Hope site, some look likely too

And yes, the rotor is 183mm

Only one looks likely and that’s the H mount that I linked for you. That is the adaptor you need to fit your 74mm PM X2 caliper to your 74mm PM fork. Buy (the same thing) from Wiggle as they don’t mention other 74mm calipers in their description, although you’ll pay £1.01 more.

Thanks again,no stock at CRC so off to Wiggle or Hope direct
