Going to look at a car (Fiat) which comes with only one key. Obviously would need another, it doesn’t need to be a remote button just a normal key.
If I can avoid using a dealer all the better.
Hear that places like Timpsons can do keys and programme them, or any other places, Ebay etc?
    Thanks

My local locksmith has kit that interrogates the key chip and car ecu to create clones, he did me a Renault key and remote fob with more functionality than the original for £140

Actually it was 140 for the remote fob immobiliser key AND a dumb key Trailrat stylee for just opening the doors if your gonna get a soaking and don’t want to risk the electronics

Don’t know much about the car yet looking at it later, it’s an 08 plate.
Think it’s the usual 3 button remote key tho.

This. Dunno where you are in the world, but if anywhere close to Cowdenbeath there’s a bloke there that does all manner of key & chip replacements for way less than £140.

    I couldn’t resist asking…..
Main dealer wants £250 for the key and £54 to programme it 😀

At least you know how much to knock off the price of the car now 🙂

    Yeah I did think that!!
Timpsons have said it would be £45 or £60 IF their system can do it…

I’d pay the extra oner and get the remote functionality if Timpsons can manage it, personally
