so my little sister got a carrera subway from halfords at christams. 180 quid. my cousin went into halfords on weekend and says it is now at 230. she doesn’t want to spend that much.

some thing primarily for road with light gravelly/ summer mud tracks. doesn’t need sus forks! i’ve got her round to the idea she’d just be lugging around extra weight for nothing.

she’s based in surrey, so bike shops round that way would be good, otherwise tinternat.

Has she thought of 2nd hand? My best bike bargain has been a Trek MTB I got from the Freeads for £100. It had fairly good bits on it too, is tough and has never let me down. It was my main bike when I bought it for off road, now it gets used for getting about town and commutes.

Cycling+ got an as new Carrera Subway from their local cash convertors for £80 int he current issue – shop aroudn locally for soemthing second hand.

Decathlon is always worth a glance at this kind of price range.
