Very quick one this: I'm going through a big beat phase - Exit Planet Dust, Vegas by the Crystal Method, that kinda thing.
What's worth checking out that's similar?

Leftfield, Eat Static, The Japanese Popstars....
Leftfield Leftism? Rhythm and Stealth is a bit 'meh' IMHO, apart from the obvious highlights (Phat Planet etc).

What was the name of the radio1 DJ that used to play a lot of big beat stuff.? Think she was on after the Mighty John Peel.
Culprit 1.

Check out old wall of sound, skint, fc kahuna, bass bin twins, freddy fresh,
EDIT: or annie nightingale?

It's worth getting a hold of the 'On Floor at the Boutique', live mix albums by Fatboy Slim and Lofi Allstars. Lots of great tuneage on them.
Not just big beat but quality!
Plump dj`s had a cd out about 8 years ago. I think it was called elastic breaks.
I have the case but the cd vanished. Anyone know where i could download it or find a copy?
This isn't big beat but I had to post it. Its **** bangin!
Martinxyz
Elastic breaks cd is on youtube but it's in 8 parts. If you're not able to put them together yourself Ill do it and post you a disc if you like?
southern fried records always used to be good for that sort of thing, skint records probably even more so. also finger lickin' records. not been into the scene for a while though so don't really know what their trends are like nowadays.
FC Kahuna's album was brilliant! they were ahead of the bleeps & squeaks game...dunno what happened to them though.
this mix is VERY MUCH worth a listen, very eclectic mix of tunes as well. the Blur track is amazing.

was elastic breaks a mixmag/dj mag freebie?? think i have that somewhere too. good call!
Aye a mixmag freebie. It's well gid.My mate had it and it used to get stuck on pre pub.
As an aside, I recently bigged up my lil sis for being on the same line up as Fat Boy Slim, she has now DJ'ed along side John Digweed - old skool reference for all the ravers out there.
Propellerheads and Death in Vegas would have been my first calls.
Not really bigbeat, but in the same ballpark.
