Okay, so GOOD is a bit of subjective term in musical circles, but it seems that most of the decent music (to my ears) on my eye-pod, seems to be fairly, or vaguely, depressing.

A small randomised selection of my daily faves now:
e.g.
Van Morrison (Veedon Fleece)
The National (High Violet)
PJ Harvey (Let England Shake)
My Brightest Diamond (Bring me the Workhorse)
Radiohead (In Rainbows / KoL)

It would be nice if I could avoid slumping into depression daily via the medium of my ears, yet also remain entertained and enthralled.

The closest I can find to meeting this happy-yet-interesting ideal, is maybe Toots & the Maytals, but waaaaay too much lively dub-reggae probably tends to do my head in, eventually.

Suggestions, please!

Does this not raise questions about the nature of happiness? Are you looking for ‘eudaimonic’ happiness (via contemplation/reflection), bubblegum capitalism, or happiness that comes through the blowing off of excess? Perhaps something that combines all, without being too esoteric?
