  • Recommend me places to stay (MTB Road Trip) – Lakes, 7 Stanes, Northern England

    I’m planning a weeks biking road trip and need recommendations of some places to stay. Can you rsuggest some good but cheapish accommodation?

    I was thinking bunkhouses / B&B’s, cabins etc but must be bike friendly. Will probably spend a night or 2 in each to sample the local riding.

    Areas I’m looking to head include:
    Lake District
    Mabie / Dalbeattie
    Kielder
    Hamsterley
    Any suggestions for good places to stay most gratefully received.

    For seven Staines have a look at Gorsebank Cabins, they have timber tents, and two really nice Bothies.

    Wavejumper,

    I have a cottage in Kirkgunzeon from where you can cycle to Mabie or Dalbeattie within 30mins. We run an advert on STW so you can have a look if it is of interest. Let me know your dates and requirements and if it is free I will see what I can do.
