My parents have hundreds of slides stored away and I’d like to get them scanned so they can be viewed on the TV of computer etc..

Can you recommend me a suitable scanner please. Am I better buying a stand alone one or one that works with the computer?

I’ve got a Veho somethingorother. It works, but it’s very limited in so far as the source material (ie, my slides) aren’t all that great to start with. Seems to be about the best of a bad bunch.

Ideally, what I need is to clean up the slides; I asked for advice in a local independent camera shop and was basically told “you can’t without risking further damage.” Ho hum.
