I’ve a few injuries flying around which I’ve had plenty of treatment for over the years but don’t seem to be able to shake off. Right now it’s at the point where if I were to do the right thing and rest that particular injury, then I can’t do anything at all – shin splint in left leg, dodgy right knee, sore right wrist – so I can’t run, swim or train on the bike which is all getting a bit frustrating. I’m just getting out and about again after 2 years off with my broken collar bone but even trying to take it gently sets off the injuries again, so it’s proving hard to get the regular sessions I need to get my fitness back.

So my idea is to find myself a good specialist sports physio who can help me resolve the current injuries, including finding a way to stop them coming backand build me a training programme that allows me to get fit without aggravating the injuries – a kind of holistic treatment rather than just specific to one thing. I’ve been recommended Bupa Wellness so I’ll try them as one port of call. I need somewhere I can get to from work easily – I work down near Tower Hill…

Crystal Palace Sports Centre have some good ones, but may not be that convenient. Try asking your doctor where they go – that was how I found the Crystal Palace lot.
