Has anyone had any success with some kind of after market canti/V-Brake studs on a frame that’s not got any?

I’ve got a disk brake Day-One, it’s got no rear studs. Now the problem is it takes a 135mm rear hub which I’m running fixed. It’s starting to get a bit creaky now and I’m conside3ring replacement options but the brakes are a problem. If you’ve never bought a 135mm, fixed wheel disk hub then you’re very lucky. You could buy a bike for that amount!

So what options do I got?

    1. no rear brake, fair enough.
    2. Some kind of mount that won’t crush the frame…
    3. Another £300 rear wheel.
    4. try and fix the old wheel, difficult because I’m not really sure what the problem is.

I’m just trying to understand if option 2 is a silly one or not.

Can’t you just go singlespeed and keep the disc brake? Plenty of hub options then?

Option 1, or a chainstay mounted caliper?

Ta all. I fixed the wheel a bit by replacing the bearings. It’s still not right, I suspect the bearing slot has been widened because of my excess power but it’ll do for a bit longer. ta.
